COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION – IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING MASKS EFFECTIVE JANUARY 12, 2022!

AirCargo 2022 has posted important information every attendee must read about vaccine/test/masking requirements and mandates. Know before you go – learn what the entry process to the conference venue will be, and how to prepare so that you can be checked in as quickly as possible.

INDOOR MASK REQUIREMENT REINSTATED IN ORLEANS PARISH.

From the City of New Orleans here, the following information has just been posted:

In response to the exponential growth of new COVID cases and hospitalizations statewide due to the Omicron variant, the City of New Orleans today announced the reinstatement of the indoor mask mandate in Orleans Parish, effective Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 6 a.m.

The mask mandate will be in place for all public indoor spaces, including all K-12 schools and healthcare facilities throughout Orleans Parish. Masks will also be required for use of public transportation as detailed in the federal guidelines, for all residents ages 2 and older. COVID-19 mitigation measures implemented for certain businesses requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry will remain in place.

In order to curb the dangerous and rapid spread of the Omicron variant, an indoor mask mandate will take effect Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 6 a.m. Everyone, regardless of their vaccination status, should wear a mask indoors when with people who are not members of their immediate household.

Important information for attendees:
Please bring to New Orleans your proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR proof of a negative antigen PCR test for COVID, administered no more than 72 hours prior to registration.

The City of New Orleans, Mardi Gras World and Fulton Alley are currently requiring the following health and safety precautions for indoor venues, including local hotels and restaurants:

Individuals 5 years of age and older must provide proof of at least one dose of an approved COVID vaccine or negative antigen or PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before entry (must include the individual’s name, date of the test, and results clearly visible on an official report).

Information about the latest New Orleans requirements can be found here.

Verifying your vaccination status or PCR test
AirCargo 2022 will verify your COVID-19 vaccination status and/or antigen or PCR test results at onsite registration and before you will be allowed access to the exhibit hall, general sessions or any AirCargo meeting spaces. You will need to complete this step before proceeding to any area of the meeting space.

Please note: It is the responsibility of each attendee to ensure that he or she can show proof of meeting these requirements upon arriving at the Hilton Riverside, or the hotel of choice, or other meeting-related destinations. Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring that all people staffing their exhibits will be able to show proof of vaccination/negative test.

We encourage all attendees to report to the AirCargo 2022 registration desk (exact location will be provided to all attendees) to be checked in and verified as soon as possible after arriving.

We will provide updates for attendees as needed.

Health and safety notes: As of December 30, 2021, the City of New Orleans has vaccinated more than 80% of all adults with the COVID-19 vaccine. However, only 64.6% of all New Orleanians and just 34.2% of the 5 to 17 year old population has been fully vaccinated.  Furthermore, there are several census tracts in the City with vaccination rates below 50%.

Additionally, the highly contagious Omicron variant of the coronavirus has resulted in large increases in cases and hospitalizations in a short period of time. Therefore, the New Orleans Health Department is placing restrictions on certain activities pursuant to the Mayor’s emergency powers provided by La. R.S. 29:727(F) and the “Mayoral Proclamation to Further Promulgate Emergency Orders During the State of Emergency Due to COVID-19” filed on May 15, 2020. These restrictions are be effective as of January 3, 2022 at 6:00 A.M.
